Good day!
As you all know, I just released the MiscKit to the general
public. So far, I've received some very good feedback, and
mostly thanks from folks who appreciate the efforts of the
various MiscKit authors. Your donations are being
appreciated and used by quite a few NEXTSTEP developers!
In addition, a few developers--in appreciation for the
MiscKit effort--have decided to donate some of their own
objects to the MiscKit as a sort of "payback". I think this
is wonderful, because the end result will help out a very
large group of people. If everyone who has spoken with me
over the past two weeks is able to come through, the MiscKit
is poised to have some particularly useful additions in the
near future. (Sean Luke's sound UI objects, as seen in the
latest release of Resound, are very promising. We've also
got generic dragging views, a serial port object, a process
object, and an inspector management system in the works.)
At any rate, I wanted to pass the appreciation on from the
MiscKit users to all the authors who have helped to make the
MiscKit as useful as it is. They love you! :-)
Some of you are also in the process of preparing new objects
for the MiscKit. Although I just made a release, please
don't "take a break" now! I need to have enough time to
incorporate new submissions into the kit before a release, so
the sooner objects get to me, the better. Of course, there
will be quite regular new releases, so if you do miss one
release (it happened to a few folks this time, in fact)
there's no need to jump out of a window. You can always make
it into the next release. And, as always, feel free to use
me as a resource if you are having difficulty preparing
something for release. I'm always happy to help where I can.
So, if you have a submission you're working on, tell us about
it, and let's get it into the kit! The NeXT world will love
you for it! :O)
